Why Home
Theatre Screen Choice Is Important
Setting
up a home
theatre can be a very rewarding undertaking. There's just something
special about having a room that's set aside for relaxation,
entertainment and fun. Beyond picking out the actual protector and
other electronic devices, there is another important consideration that
must come into play, however. Picking out a home theatre screen that's
appropriate for the room will be vital for the quality of viewing that
takes place.
While it's
true just
about any home theatre screen will do for some people, those who value
quality and optimum viewing will want to be a little pickier about the
choice. Everything from size and placement can greatly effect the
overall viewing pleasure. The ideal screen to choose is one that's of
the correct size for the room and offers good viewing from every seat
within the theatre.
With this in
mind,
choosing the right home theatre screen will take a little advanced
planning. Just running out and picking up any size screen for a
protection viewing device and expecting it to be perfect is not a good
idea. For maximum viewing quality, it's very important to take several
things into consideration before buying. These are manufacturer
recommendations on the projector itself, room size and wall size.
One
potential way to help
choose the ideal home theatre screen is to actually mark out the size
desired on the wall where it will go. By doing this, you can experiment
with screen size and seating placement to optimize viewing. As you do
this, however, it's important to keep in mind that the closer you are
to the screen with your seating, the more likely you are to have images
that are somewhat corrupted. Ideally, you’ll have a good
ratio
between the screen size and the seating distance.
Many home
theatre screen
experts recommend that the viewing distance between the seating and the
screen be at least two times the screen width. So, for example, if you
choose a screen that’s four feet wide, you’ll want
seating
to be at least eight feet away. Take out some measuring tape and check
the wall size and also the depth of the room. A chalk line, tapeline or
even string can help with this process.
Keep in mind
that the two
times setting will work for most types of protection screens very well.
In some cases, however, the home theatre screen should be even greater.
To capitalize on whatever projection device you purchase, it's not a
bad idea to read the recommendations from the manufacturer and look for
a screen that fits the bill and your room size, as well.
Deciding to
go with a
home theatre is a great way to bring a family together for relaxing
entertainment. In creating the ideal room, however, it will be
necessary to do some planning. One of the most important features when
a projection device is chosen is to be certain the right home theatre
screen is purchased, too. A little planning and a small amount of
mathematics can ensure the right purchases are made.
